Since upgrading some computers to SP 2 they are no longer able to print bold fonts to the HP 4200N network computer. I have tried both the PCL 5e driver and the PCL 6 driver. Any thoughts, or others that have seen this issue?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Would you be so kind as to clarify what you meant?

Are there any of the computers that were upgraded to SP2 that CAN print bold? Or did you mean that you’re beginning to roll out SP2 and stopped once this issue was identified?

And have you checked this with multiple fonts – both TrueType and others?

Bob

What printer driver are you using? Try pulling the most current from the HP website and applying, even if Windows states that a more current version is already installed, or it indicates that the driver does not require updating. You may need to "force" the install, in other words... I have seen issues like this on both the PC and the Mac platform, where reverting to an earlier printer driver or PPD (Postscript Printer Description) file resolved any number of oddball problems.

We are currently on PCL 6 (the latest driver from HP). The problem occurs on common true type fonts such as arial and times new roman when using the bold face version.

We I agree with poppaman2. Reloading divers should fix this.
