You can always check the system logs, they most-always give clues that help solve errors.
As far as Hash’s are concerned – if indeed “your friend” did give this to you for decoding, you may want to rethink either your level gullibility or find some new friends man.

In that case, there is no ‘decoding’. It isn’t encoded; it’s hashed.

Does that mean that there is no problem?

Some kind of API test token a friend received and asked to be decoded…

“Some kind”? What kind?

I’m not clear why anyone would make any effort at ‘decoding’ any token without knowing its purpose.

Further, where is there any indication that it ‘decodes’ at all? How is it known that it isn’t simply a variation of a GUID or UUID? It could just be a hash value or a random unique identifier value.
