I'm looking to install Git on my dedicated server to manage my code version / revision. Our server currently has Windows Server 2012. I've thought about Gitlab but it's not supported by Windows. Is there anything else that I would be able to use?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I would rather host a Linux virtual machine on the server, to install Git on the environment it was originally developed for.

I know there are some alternatives for Windows, but I’ve never used any of them.

Here are a few:

Bonobo Git Server
GitStack
msysgit
