In VBA if you want a late bound Access application reference, try this:

Dim accApp As Object
Set accApp = CreateObject(“Access.Application”)

If you want an early bound reference, set a reference to the Access library (go to Tools>References) and use this code:

Dim accApp As Access.Application
Set accApp = CreateObject(“Access.Application”)
