Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

FP will be the preferred solution.

1. create a savefile on iSeries
2. go to ftp propmt on PC
3. ptf (xx.xx.xx.xx) ip of iSeries
4. put xxx.savf

this will copy savf file from PC to Iseries.

    1. Why can't I just used drag and drop under iNavigator? You can, so there's no reason that you can't. 2. FTP from Windows to iSeries, how to define the Source system? Define what 'Source system'? Define it to what? What does 'Source system' have to do with FTP? What is telling you to define a 'Source system'? 3. How do i go about uploading? Upload by copy/paste or drag/drop -- in iSeries Navigator or to a shared IFS directory in Windows Explorer. Once the copy is done, you can use CPYFRMSTMF to copy from the Windows streamfile format into the actual savefile *FILE object format. Or most people upload with FTP straight into the target library. It requires BINARY transfer mode. Also, the savefile will need to be created first with a CRTSAVF command unless you use NAMEFMT 1. Tom

...the savefile will need to be created first with a CRTSAVF command unless you use NAMEFMT 1. That was incomplete. The statement should be "...the savefile will need to be created first with a CRTSAVF command unless you use NAMEFMT 1 and the file has a .SAVF file extension on the PC." Tom

This link () provides all... I think the best way to use the {link} button for that statement would:
    1. Highlight the words "This link" after you type them.
    2. Click the {link} button while the words are highlighted.
    3. Type or paste the URL into the entry box.
    4. Click 'OK' on the entry box.
The result should be that only the words "This link" would be converted into link text and your URL would be embedded behind them -- e.g., "This link". Of course, you can always just paste the URL itself as text. Tom
