Would it possible to store images in a MongoDB database rather than just text? Should I create an array of images in the database? If that's possible, can I do the same for videos?

Hi,
You will easily store images in a mongodb-database with the help of GridFS. You will try this:
String newFileName = “my-image”;
File imageFile = new File(“/users/victor/images/image.png”);
GridFS gfsPhoto = new GridFS(db, “photo”);
GridFSInputFile gfsFile = gfsPhoto.createFile(imageFile);
gfsFile.setFilename(newFileName);
gfsFile.save();
For more info see this: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/core/gridfs/
