How to solve npop3.exe crashed at Lotus domino R5?

Hi, Any one can advise why the npop3.exe crashed? The server is using R5. This npop3.exe will be crash once a week. May I know how to resolve this issue? Thankyou.

Software/Hardware used:
Lotus Domino R5, Xeon 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM.

This happened to us some years ago, when some users were using fetchmail to retrieve their mail. It was not deleting documents from their inboxes, and they had it set to fetch so often that the server was still indexing the documents for one request when the next request came in.

Your problem could be different, of course.

    Mean users fetching mail more frequent. It will caused the problem? Any specific patches or method to avoid this crashed?

    At the time, we had our users clean out their inboxes and fetch their mail less frequently, and that solved the problem for us. You can study your server logs for the period before the crash to see if it's swamped with POP3 requests. As for patches, that was back on version 4. We're using 8.5 now, and not doing the fetchmail thing anymore, so this may not be a lot of help for you.
