How to Setup ACTIVE/ACTIVE SQL Cluster in SQL2005
We are deployiong SQL Server 2005 cluster in our organization, we are able to do a Active/Passive cluster, however all our attempts to make and active/active cluster have failed. The MSCS is running fine on Active/Active, but we are unable to run SQL on Active/Active, more so we are not getting any documentation or any tips from any location on how to configure an active/active cluster, all hints/steps/tips etc, are for active/passive. If you have the steps or canm advise us on the process of setting up active/active cluster please let us know. Also if you know of any online rescourse where I can get informtion/steps on active/active clustering in 2005 it would help a lot.

Answer Wiki:
Unfortunately Active/Passive (Failover) in the only cluster topology supported by SQL 2005 under MSCS. It is possible that a Multi-Instance cluster might satisfy your needs but it is by no means active/active. You might query some of the non-Microsoft clustering or SQL instance consolidation providers to see if they have the technology you seek.
