If you don’t know anything about e-mail on AS/400s and your system isn’t already sending or receiving e-mail, you have some study and some work to do. You might start by downloading and reviewing the iSeries Email Redbook. Sending e-mail with CL (without installing 3rd-party programs) can be done, but it’s definitely not the best way to do it. — Tom

We use MailTool from BVS Tools.  Works very well plus BVS will help you setup your iSeries for e-mail.  Price is reasonable.  Lots of features.

That’s one of the very good 3rd-party e-mail products or utilities that are available. However, regardless of the programming that is chosen, no system should be set up for e-mail services without a basic understanding of how the facilities work. First step should always be becoming familiar with the underlying facilities.
