how to save crystal report in excel format ?

Open your report in Crystal as normal and preview the results.
You can’t save the report to Excel, but you can EXPORT the report. The menu option is “File -> Export” or you can use the envelope icon on the menu bar. From here you choose a format, one of those options being Excel 97-2000

    The exact way of doing this depends on the version of Crystal reports you're using e.g. 9/10/.NET
