Are you trying to run your form from Forms Builder?
Have you started the OC4J?
Is there some error message?

You might find this tutorial for Oracle10g Forms / Reports useful.

Have you download java applet to your browser or already have java applet in your browser? If not yet, you can't run your form on browser...To download java applet to your browser,,you must install Oracle JInitiator.. Its version depends on your windows. If you are using Windows XP,,you must install Oracle JInitiator version 1.3.1.22.

More details are needed. What happens after the 'Oracle Forms' message is displayed ? This should be a temporary message while the browser is being redirected to the forms servlet.

I'm facing the same problem, I already started the OC4J, I have 3 JInitiator installed on my machine (versions 1.3.1.18, 1.3.1.21, 1.3.1.22) but when I run a form, IE opens and only shows ORACLE FORMS, and then IE shutdowns. What can be the problem?

What version of IE are you using ? If it is IE 8, I don't think you can make it work. On IE 7, it could work but you would need at least JInitiator 1.3.1.26 (included in Developer patch 10.1.2.2). If you want to use IE 8, you might want to consider using JPI intead of JInitiator.

It is IE 7. What I see different from other tests I've made is that the Java Console is not starting up when I run a form. I have JRE6 on my machine with updates 2,3,5,7,17. I have no idea what could be the probem. I cant even run test.fmb that comes with Forms 10g.

As previously mentioned, I think you would need at least JInitiator 1.3.1.26 to run forms on IE 7. Try downloading it from here And here is the official download page, where you can find other versions to try: JInitiator Download Page How about using Sun JPI instead ?

I don't know of a site where the patch can be downloaded for free. AFAIK, you can only download patches from the Oracle Support site if you have access (i.e. you have paid for a support contract)

What Oracle 10g version are you running? The name "10g" is really just a marketing term. Actual version numbers are needed. Client version 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.5 and later) are supported on Win 7 which you seem to be running with IE 8. -- Tom
