How to remove printed spooled file from output que list
We had several files that printed remain in either 'PND', 'WTR', or 'PRT' status. I ended the writer and was able to delete the ones in PND and WTR status. The file with PRT status remains. It does not affect printing other files. Tried vary off/on, stop/start writer, cleared printer buffer, turned printer off/on.

Answer Wiki:
The PRT status means that the spooled file has been sent to the printer but the system hasn't received confirmation that the file has printed. It's stuck. Not sure if this would work but could you try holding the spooled file and then deleting it? Are you on V6R1? If so, you can use the STRSPLRCL command.

We are on V5R4. Hold command doesn’t work. I get “File QSYSPRT numer 3 not held or deleted” message.

Hi Kamari,

Not sure how you set up your printers but maybe the IP changed on the printer and it can’t find the it using the old IP address. Can you do an option ’9′ work with printing status? This is usually very helpful.

Hi RonBender,

It’s still stuck. Printing status says it’s being printed….. Pages left to print = 0.
