how to reference clipart in excel

Microsoft Excel, Clip Art, DropDownList

Ok, what I want to do might not be possible, but I thought I would ask anyway. I have a simple drop-down box (data-validation) with "yes" and "no" options. Ideally, when someone chooses "yes" I would like a clipart to be entered into the cell. For instance, I would like a checkmark or a thumbs-up or something like that to replace the boring "yes."

As far as I know this cannot be done. You can place images over cells but not into them. There may be some intricate, involved, and round about way of doing this in VB but I am not sure.

There is one way, using Excel 2007, and that is to use conditional; formatting with an icon set. You are restricted to the shapes and colours built in but it could perform your task quite well.
