Simply by using “intelligent” devices as switches instead of hubs; also i suggest you that all cabling belongs to the same category, I suggest you to use CAT 5E or better cabling and also that these cables are in separate “ways” in your plant, I mean that they don’t have to be in the same paths where electric cables, heating or other things are.
