how to reduce the effect of noise and collison in the network?

how can a network with the use of certain devices and network cables be setup to reduce the effect of noise and reduce collison in the network?

Simply by using "intelligent" devices as switches instead of hubs; also i suggest you that all cabling belongs to the same category, I suggest you to use CAT 5E or better cabling and also that these cables are in separate "ways" in your plant, I mean that they don't have to be in the same paths where electric cables, heating or other things are.
