How to recover Exchange 2003 with no backup
This sounds like an horror story but, belive me ,it's true!! The main exchange server on the DC (SBS 2003) got completly lost ( no backups). There is another domain controller  and another exchange server in a member server containing only some mailboxes. I transfered the master roles to the remaining DC . Which is the best way to proceed to restore the mail service? thank you for your help.

Alex

Answer Wiki:
You can install a “new” Exchange 2003 server using the /DisasterRecovery switch, but there are many steps to do it, and they require to be performed in the correct order because a wrong steps may harm your data further. You may go through this disaster recovery guide: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Recovering-Failed-Exchange-2003-Member-Server-Using-Disaster-Recovery-Switch.html Other solution is: If you are able to access your database file, you may use built-in Exmerge utility to recover data or a third party Exchange Server recovery software. These software might be crafted with advanced scanning algorithms to scan and recover the data from damaged database files.
