I did format my disk, but unfortunately, I also deleted an important excel file. I used getDataBack to recover that file, but when I get it back, I totally cannot read it, the data inside appear all like this "ZUØƠ&¥¥<Ó·UßçœZZ.XMUßwđ¥¥.^µUø™Ũ{đ¥¥_®×,R¥|ni2#EZ™™" So how can I fix this problem? Please help me, it's kind of important, thanks for helping me out.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I’m going to assume that you are opening the file with the Excel software, not with Notepad or anything like that. (If this is the case, you do need to open the document in Excel or Open Office Calc to view the data within the file; otherwise it will appear as garbage.)

You may try another recovery tool. It does not seem that the tool you used was completely successful in recovering your data. There is a list of the top 10 free data recovery utilities available here.

(WS) Rarely, the problem may be as simple as differing fonts on the systems, you may also want to check this.
