Are you asking how to backup an AS400 to a flash drive?
How are you going top use it later?
If it is just a backup, then save info to a SAVF, move that to the IFS and then drag and drop it to your flash drive.

I'm doubting that is was you want as a the flash drive will not have enough room for backing up.

Are you looking to back up specific files? Source code files?  Libraries?

Why back it up to a flash drive in the first place?

I have backed up my source code like QRPGLESRC and similar to a SAVF like Charlie mentioned. I have not tried a restore from it but I assume it will work if needed.

Please explain what you mean by "flash backup". It's not a term that would normally be used in relation to systems like the AS/400 series. -- Tom

    Closest thing is SAVSTG

The Save Storage (SAVSTG) command saves a copy of the licensed
internal code and the contents of auxiliary storage (except unused
space and temporary objects) to tape.  This function is intended for
disaster recovery backup.  Individual libraries or objects cannot be
restored from a save storage tape.
