How to open XNK file

I moved a Microsoft Outlook folder to my desktop, but cannot open it. It is an XNK file. I read on this web site that Windows can open it. How? What is the procedure? Claire

If you go to the web site filext.com, type in the extension, it should be able to give you a set of programs that will open the file in the event that you are currently having other issues.  Then you can right click on the file, go to Open With and then choose the program that is “suppose” to open it.  Hope this helps.

    What version of Outlook are you using? Different versions (2003, 2007, 2010) can have very different instructions. -- Tom

    To Tom Liotta.... I am using Outlook 2007 SP3 MSO. My problem is that I foolishly created a "passwords" folder within Outlook. Each password is in a separate email within that folder. I would like to get them out of Outlook and put them in a Word file without having to retype each of the emails. Is there any way I can do that?  Thanks for your help!

    Review instructions in the Workaround section Error message when you try to open a link that has an .xnk file name extension in Outlook 2007. There might be enough information in the page to get you past the problem and to explain what's going on. -- Tom
