 How to open encrypted file

I have formatted one pc, after reinstalling all software system won't allow to open all excel,word files showing "file access denied...encrypted file or read only", though I logeed through administrator with all rights. All files was encrypted by earlier user and created certificate, before formatting the pc Hardware engineer won't take backup for that user certificate, now after formatting all folders, files system won't allow. Kindly provide solution how should I will recover all these files. Regards, Aslekar

Hell Pva, did you try and recover the lost certificate with data recovery software? To my knowledge if you don't have the keys to decrypt the files you have no chance of reading them. For restoring data you may use several softwares, I have used <a href="http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/file-recovery-software/">Easy Recovery</a>. Bye

i encrypt my picture in my vista and therefor install xp
not open my picture now
even install vista again but not open my picture

one of my files in my external HD became encrypted by it self and now when I open an other file make some changes and save it again it becomes encrypted.
