How to open an RTF in email

I received an RTF document attached to an email. Tried to open it but it won't open. What do I do?

An RTF file is a common text file format that supports “rich text.” It includes several types of text formatting, such as bold type, italics, different fonts and font sizes, and custom tab settings. RTF files can also support images such as .JPG and .PNG files saved within the text file.  You can use WordPad to open the file or Microsoflt Word if you have Office.

    Strange issue. Have you tried to download the .RTF/Wordpad file on your computer? It is better way to download it first and then try to open the same file by just double click. .RTF is a default extension of Wordpad which is a built-in tool in Windows OS. You can also open the same in MS Word/Open office/Libre office.

    Moreover, if the file is corrupted/damaged, you can ask to sender for sending the same file again. Also if it is an office, you can use another system to check either it happens again.
