How to locally authenticate users using PPTP on a local PIX firewall
I need to locally authenticate users using Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) on a local PIX firewall. Once the users have authenticated, I need them to connect to a Windows 2003 server which is hosted at a remote location securely with encryption or some sort of tunnel. I have already got the authentication working, however, I can't think of a way of getting them to the server. I can't install a PIX or router in front of the server; this is a VM-based server in a data center. Your help would be appreciated.

Answer Wiki:
It is easy to implement a RADIUS server using Microsoft Internet Authentication Services (IAS). You can use this method in combination with the PIX and authenticate users or configure local RADIUS on the PIX. Cisco has some example configurations for <a href="http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a0080093f89.shtml">PPTP using PIX</a>. <a href="http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a0080094a5a.shtml">PPTP/LT2P</a>.
