    because function may return one value at a time either it is data type like varchar/ date/ number etc.etc... Right now I don't have any example ready, hoping other member may highlight on this topic with more details.

    I still don't fully understand the question, but assuming that you want to return more than one value from a function in PL/SQL, these would be some of your options.

    1) Define a complex type and use that type as return value for your function.
    2) Return a ref cursor
    3) Use "out" parameters to return additional values
