You don’t say how the other batch job was submitted/initiated so there might be better ways, but worst case you can use the <a href=”http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/apis/qusljob.htm”>List Job</a> API QUSLJOB to get a list of all the batch jobs that are active. This list can be filtered if you also happen to know the name or user the job of interest is running under.
Once you have the full job name you can use the the <a href=”http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/apis/qusrjobi.htm”>Retrieve Job Information</a> API QUSRJOBI can return job attribute information (along with a whole lot more) for any job that you are authorized to.
