whenever email is sent from the exchange server to comcast.net the following error is received Delivery Status Notification (Delay) the comcast.net emails sit in the exchange queue.

Check your SMTP logs. You should be able to get more details on what is happening to those messages. Are the messages ever successfully sent? Your isp needs to add a reverse dns record for your exchange server
