How to end a "dumb terminal" session automatically?


Workstations, Backup, Networking

We have people who forget to sign off their workstations at the end of the day...we have a tape copy that runs at night...the tape copy job hangs because the workstations have the files locked....is there a way to have the workstations signed off automatically....???

The way I have done it in the past is to kill the SubSystem they enter when they log on. So if your running a default config, just:

ENDSBS SBS(QINTER) *IMMED

Then once it's down start it back up. You can also change the system value that limits the amount of time they are able to stay logged on.

If these Dumb Terms are from Windows systems set a standard reboot accross you domain, or in the GPO for that OU. Just a thought.
