Hi Bgani
You can easily split the archive file in many other and smaller archive files you want !

Open the archive file or the mail box to archive
Set the archive parameter with a new file archive name, let’s say “PART1_”+YourOrgineNameFile+”.NSF”
Archive the documents you want (let say the half) in this new archive file (it will be created automatixally)
Set the parameter again with a new file archive name, let’s say “PART2_”+YourOrgineNameFile+”.NSF”
Archive the others documents you want (the other half) in this second archive file
After that, you could burn the PART* file on DVD and delete the original Archive file

I don't think there is any manual method that can safely divide large lotus notes archives. You need to take help from commercial tool available in market.

You could simply compress it into a ZIP file.  After all, it's just for backup.

Firstly you have to zip the file with using WinZip or WINRAR and then burn to DVD or CD media. Because they will create proper size of files that you need. Just make sure to not loss any of the chunks. You will get the full NSF file as one.
