I have an old OST file that I have been trying to convert to a PST. The problem I am running into is that I need to know what version of Outlook created the OST file. I don't remember the version. Is there any way to figure this out?

Software/Hardware used:
scanpst, ost2pst, pstwalker

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Try once Free Trial mode of SysTools OST to PST Converter software, it has no limitation and it works fluently and able to recover corrupted OST Mailbox proficiently but this program not let you save any item because saving option is disabled with Trial version. Save unlimited content from OST file to PST file with license edition of OST to PST converter software

I believe that shows the Outlook version and not the version of Outlook which created the ost file (it could come from another PC entirely). I couldn't find any info with regards to the structure of the ost file itself. Likely there is some identification there in the header of the file. But...aren't there only two versions that matter: 2003+ and pre-2003? Can you just try both options one at a time with a copy of the file? Or, is it more specific than that?
