I am trying to decompile an android application, so that i can study its coding structure and edit and recompile it... So far i am able to extract some files from it by changing its extension from .apk to .rar... The files i get by this extraction is res folder, classes.dex etc... Also i am able to extract java classes from classes.dex using framework-res.apk and apktool4.2... But i want to know how to build this project into eclipse so that i can do some work on it...

If you already have all needed source, you should be able to create a new Android project in Eclipse, and then choose "use existing source". From there, you should be able to point to your source folder and import.

I tried building project from existing code but it generates smali files instead of java files...
i have extracted the project files using "Apktool JB 4.2.2_Signed_By Rizal Lovins Sundanesse" and framework-res.apk...
it gives me correct xml files and res folders, but instead of java source codes it gives a smali folder which contains source files in smali languages...

also when i try to install the app on my device it installs succesfully but crashes immdiaetly after launch...
