I WANT TO CREATE RAID 5 ON A WINDOWS SERVER 2003.

1) I HAVE 3 HARD DRIVES, WHICH HAS ALTOGETHER 70 GB, IT'S CONSUMING FAST THE SPACE, SO I WANT TO ADD ANOTHER HARD DRIVE , THERE ARE 6 SLOTS IN MY SERVER

CAN I ADD ANOTHER HARD DRIVE IN THE SERVER AND WANT TO ADD THE SPACE OF NEW HARD DRIVE TO EXISTING HARD DRIVE SPACE WHICH IS NAMED D DRIVE. (EXISTING RAID 5) OR NEED TO RECREATE WHOLE NEW RAID TO TAKE ONĀ  NEW HARD DRIVE

Do you have a raid card? Or are you using raid soft?

For Software-based RAID 5 (dynamic disk), you can <a href=”http://www.dynamic-disk.com/resource/add-drive-to-raid-5.html”>add drive to RAID 5</a> without destroy data.

    Using the Windows interface 1.Open Computer Management (Local). 2.In the console tree, click Computer Management (Local), click Storage, and then click Disk Management. 3.Right-click the unallocated space on one of the dynamic disks where you want to create the RAID-5 volume, and then click New Volume. 4.In the New Volume Wizard, click Next, click RAID-5, and then follow the instructions on your screen. The loss of disk space is basically 100 divided by the number of disk drives. With 3 drives, there is a 33% loss of disk space. With 5 drives, there is a 20% loss of disk space
