How to configure VPN with Cable Internet?
I was able to connect to the VPN using wireless Internet but this Internet access is no longer available to me. I have now subscribed to Cable (LAN) Internet. VPN is not working in this. Could someone step me through how to set up VPN with cable Internet? Thanks.

Answer Wiki:
Whether your broadband is connected via Cable, ,DSL or HS wireless, the method for connecting to a remote network via VPN is the same. This article and this one. do a good job explaining how it is done. You want to make sure you have the correct IP address for the remote network, as well as the correct credentials for making a connection. Good Luck! -Flame

Be aware that in certain areas of the country, Comcast does not allow VPN connections on consumer accounts: a business (i.e.: more expensive) account is required. I have hit this several times in the past several years…

Some other cable providers do not make the distinction, some do… You might want to ask your provider’s tech support if Flame’s suggestions do not work…
