how to come up with a backup and restore startegy for application developed on portal


Oracle Application Server, Oracle backup, Oracle 8i, Windows Server 2003, Backup

we have an application that has been developed on oracle APP server 8i portal(forms and reports),Win2003 server(OS)
is the a way I can create a backup plan and restore plan for the system
which steps should i follow o ensure the successfull backed-up system
