    Isn't it easier to go to Apply or remove cell shading at Microsoft? If I had Excel, I'd prefer a reference to the [help], but I don't use it. -- Tom

    Yes, that may be eaiser. Sometimes instead of looking up each question as they come up. It is easier to take a class first. This may also inform the user of possibilities thye have never thought up.

    Yes, I agree that strutured courses are valuable. IMO, though, it's more valuable to learn that you can almost always go to the authoritative source. I just don't understand how teaching is done nowadays. The use of vendor documentation should be taught more intensively than actual software product details. Once that concept becomes clear, all other functions and products become easier. But it almost seems as if courses nowadays rely almost exclusively on course materials. The overall result is... well, what we see every day here. -- Tom
