Most people I’ve seen don’t think about this area until a problem arises (usually when expanding a data center). Certainly a market for HP to sell some consulting services!

    The server room has always been the topic of discussion when it comes to power consumption. I suppose it is one of the more complex topics to discuss as each environment is different. In the past I have always approached this from the point of view that equipment optimization is the key. I have been in too many environments in the past where a server is dedicated to a single service where a desktop could do the trick.
