Orchid - I recommend that you take the computer to some local computer shop (think Geek Squad) and have them check it for trojans, rootkits, key loggers and remote control applications. It sounds like it will be well worth the time and money to get a local professional to check out the system with the concerns you expressed here.

To add to Labnuke and Carlosdl's discussion points, I agree that you must document, document, document -- especially if you plan on pressing charges later. Don't just wipe out the computer; bring it to someone who can properly document what's been going on, since all of it counts as evidence.

Also, if you're changing your passwords, do it from a computer that's not your own -- even if you have to borrow a trusted friend's computer. If you have a keylogger installed on your system, the person will be able to see what you're changing your passwords to.

Good luck!

Follow Labnuke99's advice, and when you change your passwords, do not use something like your name, the name of any member of your family, the name of your pets, your birth date, etc.

He knows many things about you, and he will try to access your accounts taking advantage of that.

I think that you should report him as a stalker. I suspect that he installed a key logging program when he "fixed" your computer. This means that he knows what you type and has your userID's and passwords for the sites that you visit. I would recommend you take your computer to a reputable computer service company and ask them to scan the computer for key loggers and other malicious software. Once they have said the device is clean, go and change all your passwords on your various accounts. He might still be able to get the passwords if he knows the information that the sites use for password resets, but it would be a good step in getting your situation cleaned up.

Please find a reputable computer support group and pay them to help ensure your system is clean. Have them document their findings too and you can use that in your case that this other person is stalking you and creating problems in your life. Good luck!

Ok,

I tried really hard to follow your discussion above and you have me thinking. I would like to explain my situation as simply as possible. I believe that someone is in fact hacking into my computer. Why? Because he knows everything that is going on in my life. He will email me and get nasty when he finds out I have a date with someone. But how does he know this? I never let him know my gmail ID. He is a genious at computers and actually has a database that runs through all websites looking for my name, for poems I have written, that will recognize my photos, so he says. He sits behind his computer for hours in a day, no job, just studying the damn thing. He also fixed my computer when it crashed. Hmmmmm. Somehow, someway, I know he is hacking into my wireless line, but I cannot prove it. On my gmail account when I try to log out, about 40% of the time I get logged off automatically and it says that my account is being used. I have the new Norton system that gave me an error message of an Infostealer, but Banker. I am just confused and an innocent victim. I cannot report him until I can prove it is him. Please help me here. I need you best and most valuable advise.

Thank you, Sherri
