how do you ensure EWS is installed and enabled in SBS2008/Exchange 2007
BlackBerry Internet Service cannot connect to an Outlook Web Access Account using Microsoft Exchange 2007

I can use OWA and login via https://remote.company.com/owa

however in speaking with RIM technical support they say the issue is with EWS component is required to be active on the Microsoft Exchange Server?

The server has self assigned certificate

IIS Websites have EWS authentication set for basic=enabled and Windows =enabled not sure what else is required.

BIS worked for client on SBS2003 with Exchange 2003. OWA

Answer Wiki:
BIS should work with Exchange 2007. The issue might be having a self-signed certificate you might need to purchase an SSL certificate from a publicly trusted certification authority for a Blackberry to connect through OWA. Have you definitely tried accessing your Exchange OWA externally and not just from within your network? Put in the OWA address on BIS, then try combinations of: username: username or domainusername and mailboxname: username or blank What errors do you get?
