Hi,

It is not clear what you're trying to achieve.
The POP3 protocol, by itself do not provide a feature that you can select which message/folders you wish to SYNC like IMAP4

If hypothetically you already have an email account and you do not want to download those really old emails, you will need your server/provider to support that feature.
I don personally know any other, but I think that what I will describe to you maybe available from other providers.
If you want to sync your GMail account with POP3 only from a specific date you can configure it to do so.
Log in to your GMail account, goto Settings and than Forwarding and POP/IMAP. In this page you can enable/disable POP3 forwarding. When you enable it, you can select to sync with POP3 only from that time on.
This way you can will be able not download those old emails.

I hope this helps, as your request is not very precise and clear. If you need further assistance, please post back.

Regards,
