“I had some work done on my hard drive”.
What work was done to the hard drive, we need a bit more info to decide if pursuing a repair of your file is possible.
I had a software failure and the hard drive was removed to fix same. The techno told me he saved information from word etc, which he did, but could not help with e-mail folders and contacts because it was different software or data base. Anything you can do to help me with this would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like he just didn’t want to do the work, it’s simple enough to save the pst file in your profile in windows. Sorry you lost that. There really is no way to recover it if it is gone. Your only resource now is what you have on the email provider’s server. Have you logged into the web and accessed that to see waht is there?
I think the guy has formatted your hard disk without taking your backup, just confirm from him if he had taken any backup and if had taken, then where has he kept that. Otherwise try searching *.pst in your harddisk, he might have kept is somewhere in other drive. But ultimately if it is gone, then there is no way of getting your messages, contacts and all relevant data.
