How do I move a virtual machine from one physical Hyper-V server to another?
This question is from the 5/14 Microsoft Virtualization Chat on ITKnowledgeExchange.com
There are several ways. Manually, you can always export a VM, copy the files, and import on the new server. If you have Virtual Machine Manager installed, VMM can move or clone the VMs for you over the network. Also, if you have the Hyper-V systems on a cluster, you can quick or live migrate (if you are running Server 2008 R2) the VMs between hosts.
