Crystal Reports Errors
It's been a couple of years since I've worked directly with Crystal so need a little help. I am in the process of writing some technical specifications for reports that will be developed in Crystal. If a report is ran and no data meets the criteria of the report we want to display a message "NO DATA FOUND" to show that it ran and didn't just error out for no reason. Can someone explain to me if this is possible and how I would produce these results?

Hi,

I’m not familar with Crystal but Access reports have a On No Data function where you can have a message box come up. If you don’t have that function then you can try doing a DCount on the query that runs the report and if it’s 0 then don’t run the report but show the message box.

    Try like this, not sure: WhilePrintingRecords; whileprintingrecords; global numbervar RowCount; RowCount := RowCount + 1; if RowCount = 0 then 'No Data Found' else True;
