How do I change my i515 control panel to manual mode?
This may seem like a dumb question but I have to ask it anyways. I want to go into DST using function 21 on my 9407-515. I know I can only do this in manual mode. Back in the day I had a MODE button to switch between normal and manual. Now I have only the increment, decrement and enter buttons. All searches say you must be in manual mode but no one says how to change it in the first place. It must be something terribly obvious that I will kick myself for later but right now it's making me batty. Thanks in advance.

Answer Wiki:
The first thing that you want to keep is the link into the Hardware Information Center for your <a href="http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/powersys/v3r1m5/index.jsp?topic=/iphc5/9407_515_landing.htm">9407-515 (i5 515)</a>. As long as you keep that, you can always search for {dst} or {manual mode} or anything else about the hardware. After some searching, you'll eventually run across 'Control panel concepts' with the <a href="http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/powersys/v3r1m5/index.jsp?topic=/iphb5/cpfmanualmode.htm">Putting the physical control panel in manual operating mode</a> sub-topic. That tells you how to get in the manual mode that allows access to DST. Then you can make use of the 'Accessing dedicated service tools' topic that has the <a href="http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/powersys/v3r1m5/index.jsp?topic=/areaj/arex21.htm">Selecting function 21 from the control panel</a> sub-topic. You should be good to go from there. Tom

Sorry I forgot to say that I am referring to the physical control panel on the front of the system.

Thanks Tom

Once again you’ve been a big help. I searched IBM’s site with a dozen different keywords and never found the links you sent me.
