We are particularly concerned with the uptime, availability, and performance of SQL Server instances and our Exchange Mailbox Servers. How can Systems Center help me with this? This question was asked during the Microsoft System Center live chat on IT Knowledge Exchange in January 2010.

Operations Manager is designed to monitor health and performance of operating systems (both physical and virtual) as well as workloads running on those systems (like SQL and Exchange). Operations management packs exist for the workloads you mention (including SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008, along with Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010), as well as other workloads, and you can browse the current catalog out at <a href="http://www.pinpoint.com">pinpoint.com</a>.
