How can i telnet to a cisco 1700 series from a remote host

Hello can anybody tell me  How i can telnet to a cisco 1700 series from a remote site.?

TCP destination port 23 must be open on the client firewall to access a host using telnet unless the system is configured to use a different port. To telnet to a router with address 10.44.20.2 issue the command <b>telnet 10.44.20.2</b>. Are you receiving any errors? Can anyone else telnet to this destination host?

Telnet must also be enabled on the router. This can be done using the following:

line vty 0 4
password <x>
login

Also make sure the router has a reachable IP address. Can you ping the router?
