how can I take a log file from command prompt..........


Ping, Networking, Network testing

Hello
I need to ping an address durring night until morning for checking connection in command prompt and I want fo make a logfile from the results of pings!!!!!
How can I do that!?
I resized the size of buffers to maximum but maybe it is not too much!!!!!
and maybe durring the night I lost the results!!!
Could you please help me!!???

Well Mahnaz, I recommend using a really cool free easy to use program called Pingplotter. You can ping ip addresses to your heart's content and it will create excellent graphs to show latency and uptime etc.

Just google Pingplotter and you'll find it.

Quick and dirty:

open a command prompt in a folder. Use the following command:
ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -t >ping.txt
this will run a continuous ping and output to a text file
