NO – you can’t. Microsoft Office ‘won’ the desktop against WordPerfect, Lotus, et Al. by having the operating system and the application programmers work together. You are in ‘Word’ and click the print icon and it starts printing. In WordPerfect it opens a dialog box and you have to click ok to start printing. A small annoyance, BUT VERY important to this discussion. By tightly integrating the API’s (application programming interface) for operating system and program, MS gets good performance, business advantage, and increased exposure for all those virus writers.
If you don’t want to run ‘WINE’ and get the API binaries then don’t run Access.
If you are required to use Access, go dual boot.
