Every Sunday we bring down our Production CRM system, CRP, to do an offline backup. On Monday we experience long run times on loading configuration due to the fact the buffers were reset when the database and CRM were shutdown and then restarted. I know if we would just leave CRM up and running we would not have this issue but we like to have an offline once a week along with the production R/3 system. Then we use those backups for refreshes of our test systems. I know in the old days of R/3, the stopsap script had an option to just shutdown the database. That is no longer available in the script so I am assuming that is not recommended by SAP. Is there a way to prevent the resetting of buffers or a way to preload the buffers for Monday's business?
I forgot to mention that we do online backups once a day, Monday - Friday.
