 How can I configure a Cisco catalyst 1900series switch to perform a LAN and VLAN functions
I got a used cisco catalyst 1900 series. I have crimp the necessary cables(straigth-through, cross-over, Roll-over ether net cables). I need a help on how to configure it to serve a LAN and VLAN functions. Please the answer is needed urgently.

Well, firstly, which version of the IOS do you have on your device? Per Cisco, there is the “standard” IOS that uses the configuration GUI, and the “enterprise” IOS that is more of the CLI-based work..

Secondly, GUI based configs are as simple as clicking on the “setup” tab and following the Links to the LAN / VLAN1 config screens. VLANs are also as easily set up by way of clicking on the screens / links.

In the IOS version, you would add IP information for a LAN and create VLANs / VLan interfaces like you would with any other Cisco device…
