How can I change a WINRar file into a utz file?

p990i, Mobile phones, WinRAR

I have a SonyEricsson P990i mobile phone and I have downloaded many zipped WINRar files as themes to be installed in my mobile phone; however, the problem is that when I extract files of that zipped file on my PC and when transfer the file into my phone using USB cable, the format is not a utz one to enable the phone to use the files as a theme. are the procedures I go through wrong? If yes please tell me how to use the zipped files as themes or any other applications for my mobile phone! I will be grateful if you will be specific in your explanations!
Thanks!

Dependiing on what you have downloaded, the file might not even be an original 'rar' file. If you open the file (can use winrar on your pc for this) and it contains images and stuff for the theme, instead of extracting the files, just rename the original XXXX.rar to XXXX.utz. You can then send this XXXX.utz file direct to the phone.
If the extracted file in the original rar file contains a utz file, extract it and send that to the phone.
A lot of people rename the files from utz to something else, namely zip/rar files, as some servers require a std file type in order for it to accepted as a downloadable file.
