I need to access a remote SSH server from a Windows machine. What software should I use and how do I configure it? Currently I am only experienced in using the command line on the console. Will this be the same?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You could use PuTTY which is a small and easy-to-use tool that lets you connect to remote machines using SSH (among other protocols).

Its configuration is very simple, basically you just need to define the remote host’s name (or ip address), the port , and the protocol.

Go to google search and give putty ssh download ---- download this application and it is ready to use as basically it is an exe file and you only have to run it ... insert you remote ip address and the port and there its done. Another application is WinSCP which works on the same port of you putty i.e. 22 this is also a useful application where in you can copy files between your windows desktop and linux machine
