I am setting up a corporate WiFi hotspot. (Internet)--Router---Dell 2650 Server with hotspot software---Mesh corporate network system. The issue I am having is that the gateway will not transmit the Mac address of my wireless devices connected to it. It sees any device that connects to it as having the same Mac ID. I'm praying that you IT gods can save me. Thanks!

Software/Hardware used:
Antamedia Hotspot Software, Canopy Hotzone Mesh Networks *MTR-5210, Dell 2650 server

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I think that’s what should happen, MAC addresses are only shared between layer 2 devices.
Anything after the router will all show up as the same MAC address, the next layer 2 address.

Clients -> Router -> Network

I use SNMP on my wireless routers to monitor for any MAC addresses, I am not sure how you would use this with your hot spot software though.

    Still no luck. I was hoping to bypass this issue using just the IP addresses but again, this software bases most everything off of those MAC ID's. The router/accesspoint setup I am using is no longer supported by neither Tropos or Motorolla. Again, thank you for your answer and if anyone else might have a suggestion please let me know! Dan
