if you want you can use a (network access storage) NAS to connect to your network to share your files from a central place. it will be better if your NAS can have static IP. All you need to know is how many disk NAS you need and what is your current size and maybe your growth in near future.
as for printer, get either a wireless printer or wired printer and connect it to your network. it will be better if your printer has static IP.
for static IP just reserve it for both your NAS and Printer in the router.
